Kenneth MacDonald joined Sleeping Lady as Executive Chef in August 2008, bringing with him more than 20 years of culinary experience.  MacDonald was classically trained at the Ritz in London before moving on to lead culinary operations for hotels and restaurants across the globe. From the City Tattersals Members Club in Sydney, Australia to the Pan Pacific Sonargoan Hotel in Dhaka, Bangladesh to several hotels throughout both South Africa and India – MacDonald has cooked for royalty, celebrities and heads of state. Most recently, before Sleeping Lady, MacDonald led the kitchens at the Esteban Restaurant at the Casa Munras Hotel in Monterey, California.
Meals are chef’s choice and are served buffet style in Kingfisher’s lodge-style setting which features exposed wood beams, river rock, and sweeping views of Icicle Canyon. European-style seating encourages interaction among guests. An extensive beer and wine list highlights local favorites and compliments the menu, which changes daily. Seasonal speciality drinks are also available.

Kingfisher Restaurant and Wine Bar: 
– Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a community-enhancing environment with European-style seating. Emphasizing the freshest produce
supplemented with seasonal offerings from Sleeping Lady’s own Organic Garden, Kingfisher’s menu offers the best of Northwest poultry, fish, meat and produce. All seafood is wild and sustainably harvested when in season and available, with an emphasis on the use of local and regional sources. All meat comes from various Northwest farms and is produced naturally without antibiotics or hormones.

The Grotto:  opens at 5:00 p.m. daily.
– An intimate after-hours meeting place with a wood-burning fireplace and petroglyph-laced rock walls. The Grotto also features an outside terrace and fire pit. Serving a selection of beer, wine and spirits. They are proud to feature sixteen local distilleries including It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere Distillery and Dry Fly Distilling from the east side of the state and batch 206, Sound Spirits, Oola Distillery, Skip Rock Distillers, Pacific Distillery, Woodinville Whiskey Co. and Whidbey Island Distillery on the West side to name a few. Isn’t it about happy hour?

O’Grady’s Pantry:  open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
– Featuring espresso,  soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, ice cream and a fine selection of beer, wine and spirits.

O’grady’s Pantry is ancillary dining / snack option and not included in retreat package.
